Job summary

83zero Ltd is seeking a Principal Data & Digital Solutions Lead to turn complex engineering or operational problems into practical, working solutions on defence programmes.

You will shape and deliver data and digital solutions from concept to implementation, translate vague requirements into robust designs, and lead technical delivery with senior stakeholders on-site in the South West.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Python and data engineering capability.
• Experience with AI, machine learning, automation or digital twins.
• Background in engineering, infrastructure or defence in a regulated environment.
• Proven ability to take loosely defined problems through to working solutions.
• Immediate availability or short notice and strong technical leadership.

Contract 400 per day Inside IR35 South West Defence

We need a hands-on Data and Digital Solutions Lead who can turn complex engineering or operational problems into practical, working solutions.

• Translate unclear requirements into robust technical designs
• Build solutions using Python, cloud and modern data technologies
• Apply AI, machine learning and automation to operational challenges
• Support digital-twin, data-platform and engineering-application development
• Lead technical delivery and engage confidently with senior stakeholders
• Ensure solutions meet strict defence security and governance requirements

What we need

• Strong data, digital or solution-architecture experience
• Hands-on Python and data engineering capability
• Experience with AI, machine learning, automation or digital twins
• Background in engineering, infrastructure, defence or another complex regulated environment
• Proven ability to take loosely defined problems through to working solutions
• Strong technical leadership and stakeholder-management skills
• Immediately available or on very short notice
• Able to work regularly on-site in the South West
