Airmen Technical Services in Bristol / Abbey Wood is seeking a Principal WOME Engineer for a defence maritime contract. The role involves engineering assurance, certification and safe operation of naval platforms with an initial contract to March 2027 and potential extension.

You will lead specialist WOME engineering, explosive safety cases, hazard logs, weapons integration and system installation, with strong emphasis on regulated engineering and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Experience in WOME, OME, Explosive Safety or Weapons Engineering with a strong background in safety cases and certification.

Responsabilités

• Provide specialist WOME engineering and explosive safety advice.
• Maintain Explosive Safety Cases and Hazard Log.
• Support weapons and munitions integration.
• Oversee weapon system installation, inspection and certification.

Airmen Technical Services is seeking a Principal WOME Engineer for a contract opportunity supporting defence maritime programmes.

Bristol / Abbey Wood – Hybrid Initial contract to March 2027, with potential extension Inside IR35 Active SC clearance essential Occasional travel to UK naval and dockyard locations

Your expertise will help deliver:

• Specialist WOME engineering and explosive safety advice
• Explosive Safety Cases and Hazard Log maintenance
• Weapons and munitions integration support
• Weapon system installation, inspection and certification
• Safety reviews and engineering assurance across the platform lifecycle

We’re looking for experience in WOME, OME, Explosive Safety or Weapons Engineering, supported by a strong background in safety cases, hazard logs, assurance and certification within a highly regulated engineering environment. Strong stakeholder management skills are essential.

Experience in naval programmes, systems engineering, weapons integration, munitions vulnerability or explosive modelling would be particularly welcome.
