BakerHicks is seeking a Principal Transport Planner to lead complex transport planning projects and mentor a growing team across multiple sectors in the UK.

You will steer strategic transport assessments, travel planning, and reporting, while engaging stakeholders and driving business development within a multidisciplinary environment. A Chartered status and degree in a related field are expected; willingness to work from one of our England offices is essential.

Qualificações

• Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field; postgraduate qualification desirable
• Chartered or working towards chartered status (e.g. CIHT, TPS, ICE) with full UK driving licence
• Experience leading transport planning projects across multiple sectors
• Experience with Scotland Excel Framework would be beneficial
• Strong background in transport modelling, policy, and assessments
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and engage with diverse stakeholders
• Proficiency in GIS, CAD, Adobe Illustrator/InDesign; skilled in technical reporting, project management and public consultations
• Knowledge in Active Travel, Bus Priority, LCWIPs, Public Realm, and Urban Design would be an advantage

Responsabilidades

• Spearhead and deliver complex transport planning projects, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction
• Provide strategic transport advice on assessments, master planning, policy, and sustainable travel solutions
• Oversee technical reporting including Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Construction Traffic Management Plans, and EIA inputs
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop integrated transport strategies; manage and mentor transport planners
• Contribute to business development through proposal writing, client relationship building, and opportunity identification
• Ensure compliance with legislation, industry standards, and internal quality assurance
• Champion innovation and stay current with emerging trends, tools, and technologies in transport planning
