Principal Transport Planner

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior or Principal Transport Planner to join a well-established and award-winning engineering consultancy based in Leeds. This is an exciting role where you will play a pivotal part in shaping some of the most significant and innovative transport projects across the North of England. Responsibilities
  • Lead projects from start to finish, ensuring effective communication with your team and clients.
  • Prepare Transport Statements and Assessments, Travel Plans, and contribute to the transport chapters of Environmental Statements.
  • Engage directly with clients, planners, architects, and contractors, representing the company in meetings and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Provide input to site access designs and masterplans, taking all modes of transport into consideration.
  • Manage project resources efficiently, ensuring successful and timely project delivery.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, providing technical support and training to Transport Planners and Graduates.
Qualifications
  • Hold a relevant degree (or equivalent) and be working towards a professional qualification.
  • Have significant experience as a Transport Planner, ideally within a consultancy environment.
  • Be comfortable managing multiple client expectations and contributing to project meetings.
  • Be commercially aware with an understanding of project finances.
  • Have proficiency in junction modelling software (such as JUNCTIONS, LinSig, or equivalent).
  • Be familiar with current design standards, able to lead design reviews, and contribute to design work using AutoCAD (or equivalent).
