Job description

🕒 Contract Type: Permanent – Flexible working, Full-time, Job share, Part-time

Join the Maritime and Aviation Appraisal and Modelling (MAvAM) team within the AMBA analytical division, working at the heart of key aviation and maritime policy. In this role, you will lead the production of passenger, air traffic and CO₂ emissions forecasts using the Aviation Forecast Model Suite. You’ll collaborate with analytical colleagues and engage with external stakeholders to ensure robust evidence informs departmental decisions. This is an exciting opportunity to work across priority areas including decarbonisation and airport expansion.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage the National Airport Passenger Allocation Model (NAPAM) and the COâ‚‚ Model alongside a G7 colleague in MAvAM.
  • Run and interpret carbon‑emission forecasts to inform aviation decarbonisation policy.
  • Respond to detailed analytical queries and information requests from a range of stakeholders.

About you

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:

  • Can demonstrate knowledge and experience in working on, updating and improving analytical models. It is desirable that you can demonstrate experience working on, updating and improving transport models.
  • Experience in explaining and presenting complex analysis to a wide audience, including both technical and the non-technical, including the creation of visualisations. We would look for you to demonstrate transferable skills in this area.
  • Can demonstrate successful outcomes of liaising with external stakeholders and other analysts on transport modelling projects.
