A leading engineering firm is seeking a Principal Thermal Engineer to join the Mechanical Analysis Group in Stevenage. This role involves delivering thermal analysis for military systems, ensuring performance against thermal requirements. Candidates should have a degree in a STEM subject, experience with thermal analysis processes such as finite element methods, and strong communication skills. The position may require working on-site at least three days a week, offering a competitive pay rate of £50 per hour inside IR35.
JOB LOCATION: Stevenage
SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL: SC to Start
DURATION: 12 months + Minimum
WORK PATTERN: 3 days min a week on site; depending on project workload it could be full time on site (Please assume full time onsite when talking to candidates).
Overtime: Yes (Project dependant)
PAY RATE: £ 50 Per Hour Umbrella Inside IR35 (NEGOTIABLE)

Defence would be beneficial; open to aero, electronics. As long as thermal skill set is apparent.

The Mechanical Analysis Group are looking for a Principal Thermal Engineer to join its team in Stevenage. The group consists of over 30 engineers working across a wide spectrum of cutting-edge military systems. Working for an internationally recognised company, you will play a critical role in ensuring that products deliver the necessary performance against key thermal requirements.
Degree qualified in a STEM subject.
Proven ability to carry out thermal analysis through the application of hand calculations and Finite Element methods (eg ANSYS etc.).
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
Ability to make quick/simple assessments to progress design activities in an efficient manner.
Self-motivated and organised individuals, who are great problem solvers and can take responsibility for the delivery of work.
Ability to work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, as well as independently.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to network and influence internal and external customers.
Relevant experience in an equivalent or comparable industry would be advantageous.
