Job summary

A technology consultancy is looking for a Principal Site Reliability Engineer to join their team on a three-month contract with potential for extension. This role requires visits to the site in Wokingham twice a week and focuses on automating deployment and infrastructure management while ensuring platform reliability. Candidates should have strong expertise in OpenShift and Kubernetes, and a security-first mindset. This position requires an active security clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience automating deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management.
• Ability to ensure platform reliability and performance against strict SLAs and KPIs.
• Mentoring junior engineers and promoting SRE best practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Agile teams for deployment and infrastructure tasks.
• Implement and maintain cloud-native observability stacks.
• Support and troubleshoot OpenShift Operators and conduct security reviews.

Skills

Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Experience in remote team collaboration

Deep expertise in OpenShift / Kubernetes and RedHat Linux

Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python) and templating (Helm, Kustomize)

Experience with CI / CD automation and IaC strategies

Security-first mindset with experience in regulated environments

Experience with VMware vSphere virtualization
