We have a remarkable opportunity for a Principal Souring Manager to join our team at NHS SBS!

As a Principal Sourcing Manager, you will play a significant role in ensuring that the solutions, such as framework agreements, that are delivered by Procurement Solutions category management teams are procured through a highly efficient and effective sourcing process.

Leading a small sourcing team and reporting to the Deputy Head of Sourcing you will embed a healthy culture within individuals and across our procurement solutions team that will seek to achieve excellence in efficient sourcing, drive continuous improvement and deliver outstanding procurement solutions for our customers to access.

You will deliver service excellence, effective communication, customer engagement and management, partnership, project management, and adherence to public procurement regulations.

This role predominantly home based, with travel to one of our offices based in either Salford, Leeds, or London once a month.

What you'll be doing:
  • Offer procurement support to internal collaborators, assisting in supplier/external evaluator onboarding and addressing first-line queries.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve procurement processes and outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively within and external to the procurement team, encouraging a culture of collaboration and partnership.
  • Lead procurement-related projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standard processes.
  • Supports the planning, optimisation, and operation phases of SBS's sourcing and contracting solutions (SAP Ariba system)
  • Mentor, support, and lead a small team, promoting professional development and growth.
  • Support team members in achieving their goals by providing assistance, guidance, and resources as needed.
What you'll bring:
  • Experience/ knowledge of end-to-end procurement delivery within a public sector environment.
  • People leadership skills and management experience
  • High quality, flexible and responsive service delivery standards.
  • Experience in using strategic sourcing tools such as e-tendering platforms (SAP Ariba or Atamis).
  • Level 4 CIPS accreditation or working towards.
  • An understanding and working knowledge of procurement legislation (PCR 2015, the Procurement Act 2023 and the Provider Selection Regime)
