Job summary

MASS, based in North Hykeham (LN6), seeks an experienced engineer to lead MBSE-driven EW projects. You will model requirements, architecture and design, and integrate workflows with software, modelling and firmware teams to deliver cutting-edge capabilities.

The role emphasises lifecycle engagement from requirements through acceptance, with exposure to systems modelling, architecture work, and agile practices. A UK national with SC clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience using MBSE to develop complex systems (software/firmware elements).
• Experience with modelling languages such as MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or similar.
• Strong background in EW-related systems exploiting the electromagnetic spectrum.

Responsibilities

• Lead key development activities for EW systems and supporting tools.
• Use MBSE to create high-level models capturing requirements, architecture and design.
• Flow information and integrate workflows with software, modelling and firmware teams.
• Use models to define inputs to and verify outputs from development teams.
• Ensure verification, validation and acceptance activities are completed.
• Influence architecture and designs across the project lifecycle.

Salary: £65,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements

• Previous experience using MBSE to develop complex systems, involving software or firmware elements.
• Experience using modelling programming languages such as MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or similar.
• Strong background in Radar, Communications, Satellite, or Automotive systems exploiting the electromagnetic spectrum.
• Desirable: Systems modelling and architecture experience (SysML) and tools such as MATLAB Systems Composer, Sparx EA, or Cameo Systems Modeler.
• Desirable: Experience with software or hardware architectures, including interfaces, components, and functional and performance trade-offs.
• Desirable: Experience working on technical bids.
• Desirable: Experience with agile ways of working (SCRUM, Kanban, etc.), specifically as a Product Owner.
• Desirable: Experience across the engineering lifecycle, from requirements through to acceptance.
• Desirable: Interest in cutting-edge technologies in the Electromagnetic Warfare domain (cognitive systems, digital array radars, neuromorphic processing, etc.).
• Desirable: Experience leading small technical teams and defining appropriate work packages for junior team members.
• Must be a UK National and eligible to work in the UK.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a UK Government SC-level security clearance.
