Job summary

Raytheon UK, based in Gloucester, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to design and build software across JavaScript/TypeScript, Python or Java in an agile, collaborative environment. Roles include shadowing stakeholders, delivering milestones, and enhancing team processes.

The position requires SC and eDV clearance eligibility, onsite/hybrid work (min 3 days on site), and a focus on cloud-native, CI/CD practices within defence and cyber projects.

Qualifications

• Core software engineering with JavaScript/TypeScript, Python or Java.
• REST API development using OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Cloud services on AWS or Azure.
• Containerisation and orchestration with Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or Ansible.
• Relational databases such as PostgreSQL; Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
• Experience in Agile delivery teams.
