Tesco UK • Welwyn Garden City • Hybrid • Full-Time • Apply by 29-May-2025 About the role The transactional APIs are a collection of services that support the retail platform, which powers the shopping for all of the customers in Tesco. They are capable of handling transactions across all of Tesco’s channels and is of central importance to Tesco’s strategic plans to better serve 28 million shoppers each week in the UK, and more around the globe. The impact of the team’s work is visible through Tesco's tills, websites and mobile apps - it is rare to find a job with this level of challenge and impact. CAP theorem is a regular and very practical topic of conversation within the teams. The services are built with Java, , Spring Boot, Micronaut, Couchbase and Kafka, among other technologies. They run on AWS & Azure with fully automated testing in continuous deployment pipelines. The teams work according to Agile principles, adapting Kanban and other techniques as appropriate to succeed. The teams are supportive of each other and highly collaborative both internally and externally, with pairing a common occurrence where all code is reviewed via Github.
