Job summary

Spinwell Global Limited is recruiting a Principal/Senior Building Control Surveyor (Registered Building Inspector) for an ongoing role in London. The post is hybrid, with three days in the office each week, and a DBS clearance is required.

You will lead complex RBI projects, inspect diverse building types, and advise on Building Regulations compliance. The successful candidate will mentor junior staff, build strong relationships with developers and planners, and contribute to service improvement

Qualifications

• Strong Building Control technical expertise.
• Local Authority or Approved Inspector experience.
• Sound understanding of the Building Safety Regulator framework.
• Confidence managing projects independently.
• Excellent customer and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A proactive and collaborative approach to service delivery

Responsibilities

• Assessing Building Regulation applications, plans and technical submissions.
• Undertaking site inspections across a wide range of building types.
• Managing projects appropriate to your level of RBI registration and competency.
• Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, the Building Act and associated legislation.
• Providing clear, professional and practical technical advice.
• Supporting Building Control statutory functions and Building Safety Regulator requirements.
• Acting as a senior technical resource within the team.
• Mentoring and supporting Building Control Officers, trainees and apprentices.
• Developing strong relationships with developers, architects, consultants and stakeholders.
• Supporting service improvement initiatives and modernisation projects.
• Working collaboratively with Planning, Housing, Highways and Regeneration teams.
• Maintaining professional competence and RBI registration requirements.
