Job description

Principal Rail/Structural Engineers – UK offices, Esher

Tony Gee and Partners are currently seeking experienced Principal Rail / Structural Engineers to join our teams across all UK office locations.

The ideal candidates should be committed to developing the capability of our offices.

Minimum Requirements:
  • At least five years of post-graduation experience in civil engineering design
  • At least five years of experience in designing civil infrastructure in a rail environment, including application of Network Rail (NR) standards, element design, and detailing to Eurocodes in a NR environment
  • At least three years of experience in bridge design, including loading to Eurocodes, element design, and detailing
  • Experience coordinating and delivering designs for rail and civil engineering projects
  • Experience with bridge loading to Eurocodes
  • Experience in steel and concrete design to Eurocodes
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software
  • Ability to produce design deliverables such as drawings and specifications, and supervise engineers and BIM/CAD technicians
  • Preferred experience with composite steel/concrete, masonry, geotechnical, and timber design to Eurocodes
  • Preferred experience with finite element software for structural analysis
  • Ideally, designated CRE for civils in NR projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams to meet objectives
  • Capability to mentor junior engineers and enhance their technical skills
  • Proactive problem-solving attitude to achieve cost-effective and innovative solutions
  • Awareness of project costs and deadlines
  • Willingness to seek advice when necessary
