MCS Group is partnering with a Belfast-based tech business to hire a Principal Software Engineer focused on Python and AI. This hands-on role shapes the technical direction while remaining deeply involved in code and architecture.

You will work in a high-quality engineering environment, employing TDD, pair programming, and modern practices to deliver scalable software. Hybrid work is offered with a Belfast office presence.

Formación

• Strong background in Python and hands-on software engineering.
• Experience with TDD, pair programming and modern development practices.
• Ability to influence technical direction without people management.
• Experience using AI coding tools is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Own complex technical challenges and shape solution approaches.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on architecture and technical direction.
• Stay hands-on with Python and develop scalable software.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools to balance speed and quality.
• Share knowledge and mentor other engineers.
• Influence engineering practices from testing to releases.
