We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Principal Project Manager to join our Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure team. The role is based at our Manchester depot (M9 8AB), working on a hybrid basis.

What you'll do
  • Project Leadership: Lead multifaceted, strategically significant projects, overseeing all phases from feasibility assessment and site selection to commissioning and handover.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement project strategies aligned with our clients organisational sustainability goals and EV targets.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, local authorities, utility providers, contractors, and technology partners.
  • Budget & Timeline Management: Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Risk Management: Identify risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure project continuity and compliance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all installations meet local, and environmental regulations.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Provide regular updates to senior leadership, including KPIs, progress reports, and impact assessments.
  • Innovation & Optimisation: Evaluate emerging technologies and delivery models to enhance infrastructure performance and scalability.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong understanding of EV charging technologies, grid integration, and permitting processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in recognised project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
  • Engineering, environmental science, or business degree (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with public-private partnerships or government-funded programmes.
  • Familiarity with smart mobility, energy management systems, and sustainability frameworks.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
