0.6 WTE Band 8B Principal Practitioner Psychologist – Pain
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner psychologist to work in partnership with Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) to contribute at a senior level (alongside another 8B colleague) to the ongoing delivery of high quality, psychologically informed pain management. The role focuses on senior support and oversight of the pain services, including contributing to Pain Management Programmes and providing management/clinical supervision to other practitioner psychologists.
• Work within a well‑developed group of practitioner psychologists in physical health psychological services, based at Wythenshawe Hospital with up to one day per week input into a community pain team in Trafford.
• Provide specialist assessment, consultation and intervention for chronic pain patients, working with multidisciplinary staff.
• Contribute to the development of service improvement, audit and research projects.
• Engage with Doctorate Training Programmes at Lancaster, Liverpool and the Manchester Doctorate Programme.
• Experience and enthusiasm for working within the chronic pain specialism.
• Experience in providing specialist assessment, consultation, and intervention in a multidisciplinary setting.
