Matchtech Group is seeking a Principal Engineer specialising in Electrical Engineering (Power) to support submarine solutions within the defence and security sector. Based in Barrow or Filton, this contract role involves providing specialist electrical power engineering expertise across complex power systems and programmes.

You will lead technical design reviews, mentor engineers and work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory standards on submarine

Competenze

• Extensive experience in electrical power systems design and analysis.
• Experience with defence/marine environments is highly desirable.
• Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent professional qualification.

Mansioni

• Providing technical leadership across electrical power engineering activities.
• Developing, reviewing and approving electrical engineering designs, specifications and technical documentation.
• Supporting the delivery of power systems for submarine and defence programmes.
• Ensuring engineering solutions comply with relevant safety, quality and regulatory standards.
• Carrying out technical assessments, design reviews and engineering investigations.
• Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project stakeholders and suppliers.
• Identifying technical risks and supporting mitigation strategies.
• Providing guidance and mentoring to engineers and contributing to continuous improvement.
