Carrington West is assisting their local authority client based in the South West in the search for a Principal Planning Policy Officer to join their town planning department on an initial 6-month contract, then rolling.
We are seeking a confident and experienced Planning Professional to support the council in the preparation of the new local plan. This includes reviewing draft consultation documents, selecting site options, and procuring evidence.
Responsibilities include:
Applicants must have strong knowledge of relevant planning legislation, including the Planning & Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, the Town and Country Planning Act 2010, and recent reforms. Experience in preparing a Local Plan up to examination and giving evidence at a Local Plan examination is essential.
Preferred qualifications include a Post-graduate degree in planning, regeneration, or a related discipline, and eligibility for RTPI membership.
The council offers hybrid working arrangements. The pay rate is £50 per day (negotiable based on experience). The Job Ref is 59481.
