Job summary

West Northants Council is seeking a motivated Planning Policy Officer to join our Planning Policy Team. You will support the preparation and review of Local Development Documents, including the Local Plan and its evidence base, community engagement, consultation documents, Sustainability Appraisals, and monitoring reports.

You will lead in developing planning policies, work with partner authorities and agencies, provide policy advice at meetings, and help manage the day-to-day operations of the

• Must be a member of the RTPI and hold an RTPI-recognised planning degree or diploma.
• Experience in developing Local Development Documents and planning policies.
• Ability to engage stakeholders and work with partner authorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review Local Development Documents, including the Local Plan and evidence base.
• Lead in developing planning policies and proposals with internal and external partners.
• Provide planning policy advice at meetings and manage day-to-day Planning Policy team operations.
