Salary: £44,075 to £47,181 per annum

Hours: Part-time, 22.5 hours per week

We’re looking for a motivated and experienced Principal Planning Officer to join our team.

The Role

We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced planning professional to join our Local Plans team at a pivotal time. With our Local Plan nearing adoption, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of Charnwood through:

  • Developing and implementing planning policies
  • Supporting the preparation of Supplementary Planning Documents
  • Contributing to the creation of a Borough‑wide Design Code and Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)

You will need a full UK driving licence as you will be travelling throughout the Borough and may be using your own transport.

About You

You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in handling complex planning policy matters
  • Strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders and partner organisations
  • A degree in Town and Country Planning
  • Full membership of the RTPI
