Job summary

A public sector recruitment agency is seeking a Senior/Principal Planning Officer in Esher to manage planning teams, evaluate applications, and advise on developments. Candidates should have significant experience in Development Management and excellent communication skills, along with a degree in planning or equivalent. A full driving license is required. Qualifications

• Experience representing the Council at hearings or inquiries.
• Understanding of Local Government procedures.
• Experience with new information technology systems.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and Government guidance.
• Full driving license and own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Help manage an area team in Development Management.
• Evaluate and report on planning applications and enforcement.
• Advise on potential developments and all aspects of Development Management.
• Process applications, including major ones, and make recommendations.
• Handle appeals and present the Council's case at hearings.
