Principal Pharmacist, Clinical Services and Governance

A brilliant and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic pharmacist to join the UCLH Senior Pharmacy Leadership Team and lead, manage and develop the clinical and governance services at our National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) site.

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic pharmacist with significant prior experience in a clinical, specialist and / or governance role to lead the development of the services at our NHNN site of UCLH.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with the Chief Pharmacist and Deputy Chief Pharmacist, Clinical Services, you will have:

  • a track record of leading a team of staff to deliver high quality pharmacy services
  • excellent team working, communication and negotiation skills
  • the ability to lead the team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians across NHNN

Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Postgraduate Diploma or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or General Pharmacy Practice
  • Registered Independent Prescriber
  • Postgraduate course in management or leadership
Experience
  • Significant experience as a senior clinical pharmacist practitioner in NHS hospitals
  • Significant experience of working with health care professionals in developing a pharmacy service to a directorate
  • Broad clinical skillset based upon experience from a broad range of clinical rotations
  • Experience within a medication safety rotation or role
  • Experience of working in Neurology or Neurosurgery
  • Core training in quality improvement and research methods
Personal and People Development Requirements
  • Previous experience in delivering education and training at a post graduate level in NHS hospitals
