A leading aerospace and defense company is seeking a Principal Obsolescence Engineer to join their team in Luton. The role involves collaborating on Obsolescence management for the Praetorian product, managing reviews, and supporting procurement efforts. Job Description:
The Electronics Engineering Function is looking to grow its Obsolescence and Component Engineering team to work in the Praetorian Production IPT as a Principal Obsolescence Engineer. This an excellent opportunity to work in synergy with commercial, procurement and the engineering teams on one of the most cutting-edge products to ensure continued production.
Your Impact:
You will collaborate with the product IPT and ensure best practice is followed for Obsolescence management to continually support the production of the Praetorian product this will also include managing the workshare partners. As part of this role, you will be performing obsolescence reviews of the production build standards agreed selected component list using the departments Obsolescence management tools and provide notifications to the customer of any obsolescence via commercial.
You will work with the commercial and procurement team to ensure Last Time Buys are procured and well providing alternative recommendations the engineering team this will include chairing obsolescence review boards with the IPT this will lead to develop key relationships. As part of this role, you will be responsible in creating and the annual updates of the Obsolescence management plan and provide support to the Obsolescence lead to review obsolescence process effectiveness that will develop and enhance procedure documents.
