Cognite is seeking a Principal Medical Writer to turn complex science into compelling patient materials and brand messages. You will lead scientific discussions with clients and collaborate across Editorial, Strategy and Client Services in a fast-paced agency setting.

The role emphasizes independence, strategic input, and delivering high-quality medical communications for patient audiences, with hybrid working in Holborn, Central London.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in medical writing within a medical communications agency or similar environment.
• Experience writing for patient materials (essential) and US direct-to-consumer deliverables (essential)
• An undergraduate degree in a relevant science (essential) or a postgraduate qualification or PhD (desirable)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Demonstrating an in-depth scientific knowledge of allocated accounts and using this to shape communications for our clients’ brands
• Developing scientific content, including patient and US direct-to-consumer (DTC) materials, for allocated accounts or workstreams
• Understanding and contributing to brand strategy and applying strategic thinking to all work
• Actively participating in client meetings and workshops, and taking the lead on scientific discussions with clients, medics and external experts
• Being seen by the client team as a trusted source of product and therapy area expertise
• Collaborating with internal colleagues and departments, including Client Services, Creative, Editorial and Strategy, to ensure the seamless delivery of projects
• Contributing to new business opportunities through written proposals and pitches

We are looking for a Principal Medical Writer with experience writing for patients to join our growing team. You will be responsible for:

• Demonstrating an in-depth scientific knowledge of allocated accounts and using this to shape communications for our clients’ brands
