Job summary

JOBS247 INC LTD in the United Kingdom is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead multidisciplinary water and wastewater design across the full project lifecycle. The role requires strong UK water industry knowledge and a track record of delivering complex mechanical packages.

You will coordinate with process, civil, electrical, and construction teams, mentor engineers, and drive risk management, value engineering, and design reviews.

Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of relevant mechanical engineering design experience.
  • Background from water, wastewater, biosolids/bioresources or oil & gas.
  • Strong understanding of UK water industry standards, CDM 2015, safety-by-design, regulatory drivers and delivery models.
  • Experience delivering AMP8, WINEP, SRO, D&B, framework, alliance or contractor-led projects.
  • Experience modelling, automation, BIM/3D coordination, data analysis or standardised workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design delivery on water/wastewater projects across full design lifecycle.
  • Lead mechanical input to optioneering, value engineering, design reviews, HAZOP/SWIFT, constructability, maintainability.
  • Review and approve mechanical calculations, specifications, datasheets, reports, P&IDs, layouts.
  • Provide technical assurance and support project managers with risk, scope, resourcing, programme and change control.

Job description

This Principal Mechanical Engineer - Water / Wastewater position focuses on driving multidisciplinary coordination across Process, EICA, civil/structural, architectural, MEP, construction and operations teams.

The work
  • Lead mechanical design delivery on multidisciplinary water/wastewater treatment projects across the full design lifecycle
  • Lead mechanical input to optioneering, value engineering, design reviews, HAZOP/SWIFT, constructability, maintainability and com
