Job summary

Assystem invites engineers to join the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit, reporting to the FEED Engineering Manager. You will be responsible for delivering Front Engineering activities for Small Modular Reactors, Advanced Modular Reactors and Fusion projects, guiding a design team with cross-discipline collaboration.

Your mission includes spearheading optioneering, coordinating multi-disciplinary efforts, and delivering safe, compliant solutions aligned with UK standards and project goals.

Qualifications

• Strong previous experience in highly regulated industries like nuclear, thermal power generation, or oil and gas.
• Expertise in thermal power systems and equipment, from steam turbines to pumps, with understanding of nuclear plant operations.
• Experience mentoring and developing junior staff, and leading small teams.
• Familiarity with ASME, European, and UK codes and standards, plus Product Safety Legislation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Front Engineering activities for Small Modular Reactors, Advanced Modular Reactors and Fusion projects.
• Lead engineering design team and coordinate multi-disciplinary collaboration.
• Drive optioneering and ensure ALARP/BAT justifications are robust.
