Responsibilities
- Manage the development of intricate mechanical system designs, across a range of Maritime, Commercial, and Residential projects, with the use of relevant software tools.
- Establish and maintain detailed technical reports and documentation, calculations, scope estimations, and specifications.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to locate design issues and implement sustainable, efficient, and low‑energy solutions, ensuring proactive prevention of recurrence.
- Ensure that all on‑going works align with client requirements, building and industry standards, sustainability goals, and other relevant legislation and regulations.
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and other relevant project professionals, whilst taking on the Design Lead role when needed.
- Guide and support junior engineers, promoting their professional development, whilst ensuring efficient work performance, allowing for smooth project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a similar discipline, with a chartered engineer status, or actively working towards attaining one.
- Extensive experience as a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, or a related position, ideally working on Commercial, Maritime, and Residential projects.
- Strong demonstratable team management skills are essential, with a significant ability to build and maintain rapport with relevant project professionals and individuals.
- Solid understanding of relevant building and industry standards, sustainability goals, and other legislation and regulations.
- Proficient communication, organisational, and leadership skills, with a strong proactive and problem‑solving mindset
