Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Principal Land Quality professional to lead contaminated land projects across our portfolio. You will drive desk studies, model development, site investigations, data interpretation and risk assessment, delivering cost-effective remediation strategies for complex sites.

The role requires 10–15 years’ experience, SiLC certification, and strong team collaboration. Expect UK travel, regulatory liaison, and ongoing professional development within a supportive, safety-focused

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Environmental Science, Geoscience, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field.
• 10–15 years’ experience in land quality/contaminated land roles.
• SiLC recognition.
• Strong understanding of site investigation, risk assessment, and remediation tech.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with cross-team collaboration.
• Willingness to travel to project sites; UK driving licence beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Oversee desk study assessments and initial conceptual site models.
• Lead design and implementation of on- and off-shore ground investigations.
• Provide data analysis, risk assessment, and interpretative reporting input.
• Identify land quality constraints and remedial optioneering to cost-effective solutions.
• Manage remediation programs to project close-out with regulators.
• Collaborate with senior consultants and project managers on multidisciplinary projects.
• Ensure HSE compliance on-site and in offices.
• Seek opportunities for professional development and mentoring.
