Job description
Senior Site Engineer

Location: North West, near Manchester (requires travel across multiple sites in the region)

Key Responsibilities
  • Primary setting out, line, level and set‑out works using industry standard EDM/GPS/Levelling Equipment.
  • Check works to meet Programme, Specification and quality requirements and supervise contract quality management in line with the Business Management System.
  • Oversee the technical aspects of engineering elements – sub‑structure, drainage, underground services, frame, envelope, internal works and temporary works.
  • Maintain contemporary records for progressive and completed works, measurements, reconciliations and record purposes.
  • Support the management of works, align engineering elements with Galliford Try's Safety Management Policies and industry standards.
  • Implement the Business Management System to achieve quality expectations of the project in line with the Contract, Specification and Drawings.
  • Write and review PQP's and ITP's, oversee implementation and compile on‑site quality inspections.
  • Provide information to operatives and sub‑contractors, coordinate works with all parties.
  • Drafter programmes for the works using Asta and input into planning systems.
  • Monitor and record progress, maintain daily diaries and photographic evidence.
  • Undertake material quality checks, reconciliations, and calibrate all setting‑out equipment.
  • Undertake As Built surveys and log data.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum level: HNC in Civil Engineering (Degree preferred).
  • CSCS Card and SMSTS certification (preferred).
  • Computer literacy in MS Word, XL, CAD and common data environments such as View for Projects.
  • Proficiency with Asta Teamplan or Power Project.
  • Experience working between multiple sites simultaneously.
  • Positive, motivated, enthusiastic and problem‑solving mindset with continuous improvement focus.
  • Good communication skills (verbal, written and digital).
