Role Overview

Principal Hydraulic Modeller – a permanent role based near Sheffield, with a competitive salary of £50,000-£55,000.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a high‑performing team across a variety of projects
  • Audit productivity rates and manage costs, resources and delivery
  • Produce hydraulic models and supervise, check and verify colleagues’ work
  • Analyse and interpret data using a variety of software systems to prepare, check, publish reports
  • Generate plans utilising MapInfo
  • Maintain working relationships with clients and stakeholders across the public and private sectors
  • Represent the company at site visits and meetings
  • Adhere to industry standards, regulations and health & safety measures
Required Skills & Experience
  • UK Degree (or equivalent) in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Management or a related discipline
  • Chartered status with a recognised, relevant Professional Body
  • Considerable experience working in a design‑based role within a UK consultancy (or Local Authority) setting
  • Experience of wastewater modelling
  • Outstanding proficiency in InfoWorks ICM (1D and 2D) and other relevant software packages
  • Extensive experience managing people and projects
  • Experience managing client/stakeholder relations
  • Full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Good knowledge of the local area and surrounding region
  • Excellent working knowledge of a range of other software systems used within the flood risk, drainage and hydrology sectors
