Job summary

Crouch Waterfall is seeking a Principal & Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Exeter office. The role involves leading geotechnical projects across infrastructure, rail, bridges and buildings, with opportunities for career progression and mentorship from senior leadership.

You will own selected projects, collaborate with engineers and technicians, and help grow our UK portfolio within a supportive SME. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering or related field.
• Extensive geotechnical experience with leadership of technical scopes.
• Chartered status (or near-chartered) with CEng or CGeol.
• UK project experience and familiarity with UK standards.
• Strong technical reporting and excellent written/spoken English.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Rail sector experience and familiarity with GEO-5, FEM tools, CAD beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Take technical and delivery ownership of geotechnical projects.
• Lead project delivery, manage priorities and programmes.
• Coordinate engineers and technicians, provide direction.
• Manage project delivery activities including resourcing and invoicing input.
• Prepare and review technical reports, feasibility studies.
• Undertake site inspections and geotechnical surveys.
• Act as key client contact and support business development.
• Collaborate across offices, mentor junior staff, contribute to growth.
