Qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Eurocode 7, BS 5930, and geotechnical design standards.
  • Experience with slope stability, earthworks, retaining wall, and piling design.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel.

  • Oversee site investigation data interpretation and technical report delivery.
  • Provide technical review and sign-off on design reports.

Principal Geotechnical Engineer

Location: Dartford Depot (travel across Kent, Essex, London, occasional UK travel)

Contract: Permanent 40 hours / week (Mon–Fri)

About the Role

Ground Control Geotechnical Solutions delivers safe, sustainable, and high-quality geotechnical engineering services across the UK.

We are looking for an experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead ground investigation, soil and rock analysis, and geotechnical design projects. You will manage teams, ensure technical excellence, and drive client satisfaction through safe, efficient, and innovative engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead geotechnical design, ground investigations, and foundation analysis projects.
  • Oversee site investigation data interpretation and technical report delivery.
  • Provide technical review and sign-off on design reports, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Mentor and support Graduate and Senior Geotechnical Engineers.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and support tender submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, HSE standards, and environmental best practice.
Qualifications
  • Degree (BSc / MSc) in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Eurocode 7, BS 5930, and geotechnical design standards.
  • Experience with slope stability, earthworks, retaining wall, and piling design.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
