Overview

Principal Environmental Principal Officer – Pollution

Location: Hampshire (2 days a week in the office, remainder remote)

Rate: £50 + per hour (umbrella)

Contract: 3–6 months initially, likely extension

We are working with a council in Hampshire seeking an experienced Environmental Health Officer (Pollution / Environmental Protection) to join their team on an interim basis.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the delivery of casework relating to Air Quality, Contaminated Land, Environmental Permitting, Noise Nuisance, and Filthy & Verminous properties.
• Providing expert advice and support to colleagues, stakeholders, and members of the public.
• Managing a varied caseload and ensuring compliance with statutory duties.
• Mentoring a small team of Officers

• £50 + per hour (umbrella, inside IR35).
• Hybrid working: only 2 days a week in the office, with the rest remote.
• Initial 3–6 month contract, with strong potential for extension.

About you

Qualified Environmental Health Officer (EHO) or Environmental Protection Specialist with relevant experience.
