Merton Council seeks a Principal Environmental Health Practitioner to lead food hygiene inspections across the partnership boroughs. You will oversee health and safety enforcement, investigate complaints, and mentor staff within the Regulatory Services Partnership hosted by Merton Council.

The role requires registration as an Environmental Health Practitioner and post-qualification enforcement experience, with hybrid working across boroughs.

This principal post sits in the Food and Safety Team of the Regulatory Services Partnership, which Merton Council hosts and which covers three London boroughs. The work centres on food hygiene and standards inspections, health and safety enforcement, investigating complaints and accidents, and supervising technical staff. The role includes hybrid working and an agreed principal borough. Applicants need a registered Environmental Health Practitioner qualification plus post-qualification enforcement experience.
