Due to significant infrastructure planning wins and new opportunities, we are looking to bring in a Principal Environmental Consultant to working on EIA projects.
As we are a national team, we are flexible in terms of office location – this includes offices in Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Croydon, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, St Albans as well as taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model.

Our Environment business has over 8000 staff working across the UK and Ireland. By joining us you will work daily with technical experts within our established Environmental Impact (EIA) team which comprises over 165 staff across the UK and Ireland.

You will work daily with technical experts within our established Environmental Impact team. We are a founding member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) EIA Quality Mark, whilst everything we do aligns with our environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
To apply for this will role, you’ll need to be able to demonstrate interest and experience of managing and coordinating multidisciplinary environmental inputs to infrastructure development projects. You should also have:
Strong knowledge of EIA, environmental assessment methods, planning legislation, and relevant consenting and licensing regimes. Experience with DCO and/or TWAO would be a bonus.
Experience delivering consultancy services, with strong project management skills including programming, resourcing and budget management. Able to coordinate specialist technical inputs effectively.
Confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, with excellent verbal, report writing and technical review skills. A collaborative team player who can build strong working relationships.
Degree in a relevant environmental discipline, preferably at Masters level, with appropriate professional membership. Chartered Environmentalist status and an interest in mentoring and line management would be advantageous.
Willingness to travel and work flexibly across projects and stakeholder groups.
