Job summary

Avenue3 is a Yorkshire-based digital consultancy delivering open data and modern engineering for health, government and regulated sectors. We’re looking for a Principal Engineer who combines deep technical delivery with a strong consulting mindset and client-focused approach.

You’ll partner with clients to define pragmatic, scalable architectures, influence direction, and translate ambiguous needs into concrete designs. You’ll mentor teams and drive value across the full delivery lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Deep technical expertise with consulting mindset and client focus.
• Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into scalable architectures.
• Experience leading engineering teams and delivering across SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and technical leadership across complex client projects.
• Design, build and maintain robust backend services with C#/.NET and frontend with React/TypeScript where needed.
• Engage with product owners and clients to align technical decisions with business goals.
• Identify opportunities to extend engagements through architecture, delivery approach and data strategy.
• Mentor engineers and lead teams or workstreams to ensure disciplined delivery.
