Job summary

A technology company is seeking a Principal Engineer in Support Engineering to lead the AR&M engineering team, ensure effective communication with stakeholders, and manage engineering changes. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of AR&M disciplines, a STEM degree, and experience in the engineering lifecycle. The role offers hybrid working and a competitive salary.

Overview

Principal Engineer – Support Engineering (AR&M) at TieTalent. Location options: Barrow-in-Furness, Brough, or Filton. Hybrid and flexible working arrangements available. Salary: negotiable depending on experience.


What you’ll be doing


  • Provide leadership and guidance to the AR&M engineering team

  • Provide technical expertise and act as a knowledgeable interface to suppliers and customers on AR&M matters

  • Undertake the evaluation and sign-off of the impact of engineering changes on support deliverables for systems and equipment

  • Provide oversight of AR&M administrative functions to maintain records within the Support Engineering department and to facilitate ILS activities

  • Produce the full range of AR&M deliverables, including the AR&M Case and Case Reports


Your skills and experiences

Essential:



  • Extensive knowledge across the full range of AR&M disciplines and how they relate to ILS and Safety

The AR&M and Supportability Team

You will join a growing team of 13 individuals based across sites at Brough, Filton and Barrow tasked with AR&M analysis and creating case reports against combat systems. This team conducts its own AR&M analysis and produces its own reports and calculations to ensure the availability targets are met for the systems of the submarine. You will collaborate with stakeholders from the MOD, Dreadnought Alliance system owners/designers, and external suppliers at design reviews, and with the Combat Systems senior managers. Joining this team provides the opportunity to influence the design of the Dreadnought platform from a Combat Systems perspective and to mentor and coach new team members. Relocation support across Submarines roles is available, subject to eligibility criteria.
