A leading defense contractor is looking for a Principal Engineer - Product Assurance in Barrow-in-Furness. This role involves providing independent safety assurance and engineering oversight on submarine products. Candidates should have substantial experience in Safety Engineering, including conducting design reviews and audits. The Engineering Product Assurance Department (EPAD) delivers Level 3 assurance across all Engineering Authority delegations, including Submarine Programmes, Site Facilities and Specialist Engineering. EPAD oversees assurance activities such as investigations, design reviews, maturity assessments and major design, build and commissioning evolutions.
In this role you will review technical documentation and provide constructive feedback to confirm that maturity levels are met, designs are fit for purpose, investigations have identified true root causes, and that all company processes and standards have been properly followed.
