Your impact

Your engineering judgement will shape structural solutions across some of the UK’s most important transport and infrastructure programmes.

You will help clients solve complex challenges involving existing and new structures across highways, rail, aviation, energy and power. Whether improving the performance of an ageing asset, developing a renewal strategy or leading a technically demanding design, your work will directly influence safety, sustainability, whole‑life value and project delivery.

You will bring clarity to difficult engineering decisions and provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams. You will also help develop the engineers around you, giving them the confidence, support and challenge needed to progress.

This is an opportunity to combine deep technical expertise with wider influence. You will improve how structural solutions are developed and delivered by applying digital tools, leaner processes, new technology and practical engineering insight.

About The Opportunity

Join our Bridges & Structures team and take a leading role in developing practical, technically robust solutions across highways, rail, aviation, energy and power. You’ll work on complex UK and international projects for clients including High Speed 2, National Highways, Network Rail, the Welsh Government, local authorities and national contractors. From feasibility and asset management through to detailed design and structural renewals, you’ll help clients make informed decisions that improve safety, sustainability and whole‑life value.

You’ll lead structural analysis and design, guide multidisciplinary teams and mentor engineers while maintaining high standards of technical quality. Working with specialists across the UK and internationally, you’ll shape integrated solutions, strengthen client relationships and improve delivery through digital tools, new technology and leaner ways of working. We’re particularly interested in experience involving asset management, structural renewals or post‑tensioned structures, but we also welcome technical leaders who can bring relevant expertise from other disciplines or industries.

Here’s what you'll need

• Substantial experience in civil or structural engineering, with the technical judgement to lead complex structural work.
• Strong structural analysis, design and practical problem‑solving capability.
• Experience leading technical delivery and taking responsibility for engineering quality.
• The ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to clients, project teams and other disciplines.
• Experience supporting, mentoring or guiding engineers.
• The ability to manage competing technical and project priorities without compromising quality or safety.
• A relevant civil or structural engineering degree
