Job description

We're currently recruiting for a Principal Engineer for the Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for working to deliver projects of significant complexity in a fast paced and cross‑functional environment, playing a key part in advancing our mission and making a real difference. This is a hybrid role where the candidate will need to draw on strong project engineering and project management skills to enable capital project success. It focuses on the technical aspects of projects, as well as the project management of resources, schedules, budgets; and will identify, manage, and communicate risks to ensure project success.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting GMP manufacturing facility capital projects from a project engineering standpoint
  • Driving and owning MEP, architectural, and construction specification deliverables; act as a primary point of contact between OXB and Construction Management firms, as well as various subcontractors
  • Managing capital projects of varying scope and complexity, from initiation through planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
  • Driving definition of project scope, development and management of resources and budget, team member selection, customer buy‑in, vendor selection and management, project approval
  • Monitoring project progress, helping the project team identify and overcome roadblocks and challenges
  • Overseeing project closure and ensuring that deliverables are completed inclusive of coordinated after‑action reviews
  • Understanding and communicating business drivers for projects that are proposed and helping drive the project approval process
  • Contributing to build and enforce a culture of business‑driven, strategic capital investment by setting high expectations for excellence in project management and identifying and incorporating project management best practices
Qualifications
  • A technical (engineering, science) bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of and experience in MEP, Architecture, facility construction
  • 5+ years of project management or project engineering experience in a technical environment
  • PMP certification is strongly desired
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools and techniques (critical path, Gannt charts, Work Breakdown Structure, etc.)
  • Experience and working knowledge of Smart Sheets / MS Project / Prima Vera or other enterprise‑level PM tools
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, listening, and presentation skills at all levels of the organization, and a focus on developing productive relationships with customers and with team members
  • A desire and ability to lead cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced and collaborative environment and set those teams up for success in project execution
  • Adaptability to thrive in a nimble, dynamic, and rapidly changing environment
