Hexwired Recruitment has partnered with a rapidly expanding electronics manufacturer in Bristol that is now seeking a Principal Embedded Software engineer with good experience working independently on embedded software projects from design to manufacture for regulated industries.

The company works with customers globally to develop novel solutions to a range of applications, utilising the latest technology available. You will be working as part of a dedicated software team, developing a range of unique products used across a number of industries, so this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a more varied role.

You will collaborate with a team to develop innovative solutions, while enjoying semi‑remote work with a preference for being onsite three days a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain embedded software solutions for regulated industries.
• Lead and mentor embedded software development teams.
• Manage all phases of development from concept through to manufacture.
• Ensure compliance with safety‑critical certifications such as IEC60601, DO‑178, and similar.

Key Skills

• Degree in Embedded Systems, Electronics or a related field.
• 5+ years of commercial Embedded C experience.
• Extensive experience on mission‑critical projects (Medical, Aerospace, O&G, etc).
• Proven track record with safety‑critical certifications (IEC60601, DO‑178, etc).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
