Job summary

Egis is seeking a Principal – EIA & Consents to lead environmental assessments and consenting strategies across major UK infrastructure programmes. Location options include London, Manchester or Bristol, with hybrid working.

You will manage EIAs, environmental planning and consent submissions, coordinate inputs from specialists and engage with clients, regulators and communities to deliver sustainable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Understanding of EIA Regulations and planning frameworks.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Experience delivering EIAs, environmental planning or consenting projects.
• Knowledge of UK planning policy and the consenting process.

Responsibilities

• Lead EIAs, including screening, scoping and Environmental Statement chapters for T&D, energy, water and transport projects.
• Undertake baseline studies, constraints analysis and impact assessments, translating technical data into clear advice.
• Coordinate specialist inputs (air quality, noise, biodiversity, landscape, water, climate) for a robust assessment.
• Support and contribute to DCO, TCPA and sector planning submissions for major schemes.
• Develop and implement environmental mitigation strategies and manage environmental risks.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, regulators and stakeholders.
• Contribute to consultations, technical workshops and project reporting.
