A leading defence organization in the UK is looking for a Senior ECAD Librarian to manage electronic and electrical component libraries. This role involves overseeing library maintenance, ensuring data integrity, and leading the transition towards a unified component strategy. Candidates should have strong expertise in high-speed PCB layouts and exceptional problem-solving skills. A hybrid working arrangement is available, and the salary offered is circa £53,000 depending on experience.
An opportunity has arisen within the Engineering Design Capabilities Team for a Senior ECAD Librarian. In this specialized role, you will be the primary authority for both our Electronic and Electrical component libraries. You will ensure the integrity of our Zuken-based design environment, managing the data that enables everything from high-speed PCB layouts to complex electrical interconnects and cable looms.
As the Senior Librarian, you will lead the transition toward a fully unified component data strategy, ensuring our engineers have the precise symbols and data attributes required for world‑class missile system design.
Circa £53,000 depending on experience
1‑2 days per week on‑site due to workload classification
British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
The Engineering Design Capabilities Team is responsible for providing comprehensive business user support and driving the capability roadmaps in a wide range of Design IT systems across the engineering communities. A unique opportunity is available to join our team as a Senior ECAD Librarian, collaborating in the management, maintenance, and future development of our Electronic and Electrical component libraries. Assisting our users in ensuring seamless integration and the highest standards of design across multiple engineering systems. The primary responsibility for the Senior ECAD Librarian role is to oversee the business operational support, technical specialism, and maintenance of Electronic Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) libraries used in both electronic and electrical design. This role involves guiding a team by embedding best practices, resolving technical issues related to the library maintenance, ensuring data integrity, and contributing to the overall efficiency of ECAD components.
