Job summary

Assystem is recruiting a Senior EC&I Engineer for the Whitehaven site in the UK. You will join a leading nuclear engineering group delivering complex infrastructure projects with strict safety and security requirements.

The role focuses on supporting the EC&I RE and Area Engineering Manager, producing design work packages, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and project constraints. This position offers full-time work in a regulated environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering electrical and instrument design in regulated environments.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations and safety integration.
• Experience planning space, routing cables, and managing cable infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Assist EC&I RE and Area Engineering Manager in delivering design work packages.
• Produce design outputs: specifications, drawings, analyses and verifications.
• Ensure compliance with legal and functional requirements within time, cost and quality constraints.

• To support the EC&I RE and Area Engineering Manager in the delivery of design
• To produce engineering design work packages (specification, drawing, analysis, verification or assessment of engineering)

Qualifications

Essential Experience:

• Proven experience in building electrical services design
• Proficiency in CDM Regulation application
• Expertise in space management, cable routing, and cable management
• Strong team player with the ability to work independently under tight deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Security clearance

This role requires the successful candidate to hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Due to the nature of work this role will be delivering and for the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non-ITAR country.
