Job summary

Searchability NS&D is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to join our Manchester-based team on a SC-cleared role. You will lead complex, production-grade infrastructure across cloud-native platforms, driving architecture and automation initiatives in collaboration with delivery teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong Linux, AWS, Kubernetes and CI/CD experience, plus a track record of technical leadership and stakeholder collaboration in a defence/public sector context.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux expertise (RHEL/CentOS) with experience supporting production systems.
• Git for version control and collaborative development (GitHub / GitLab)
• AWS cloud infrastructure, ideally with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Kubernetes and container technologies (Docker) for modern platform environments
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling (e.g. Jenkins, Bamboo)
• Strong understanding of modern platform architecture, microservices and cloud-native systems
• Good communication skills and ability to provide technical leadership.

PRINCIPAL DEVOPS ENGINEER

• Permanent opportunity for a Principal DevOps Engineer with SC Clearance.
• Salary up to £105,000 DOE
• Hybrid opportunity with Manchester based offices

THE PRINCIPAL DEVOPS ENGINEER

• Active SC Clearance or SC Clearance eligibility
• Manchester Based or ability to travel to Manchester.
• Experience as in a Senior/ Principal DevOps/ Platform engineering role
