Job summary

Aberdeen Group in Edinburgh seeks a Principal DevOps Engineer to lead cloud engineering with a strong focus on Azure and AKS. You will shape automation, CI/CD pipelines and IaC across development, deployment and infrastructure management.

You will collaborate across engineers, analysts and stakeholders to drive scalable, secure solutions and promote AI-assisted engineering practices within an Agile framework.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering cloud-native solutions and leading DevOps practices.
  • Hands-on with Git, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code and Azure administration.
  • Experience with microservices, containerisation and REST API design, development and testing.
  • Expertise in at least one object-oriented programming language, with C# preferred.
  • Interest in financial services, investment management or fintech environments, with a commitment to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and evolve Aberdeen’s DevOps strategy, cloud engineering capability and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) platforms.
  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code solutions and automated testing practices.

You will lead the design and implementation of automated solutions across software development, deployment and infrastructure management, with a strong focus on Azure and AKS.
