Job summary

Aristocrat is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead end-to-end data science initiatives and build ML/RL solutions that boost player engagement and monetization across leading games.

You will define metrics, establish robust modeling frameworks, and collaborate with Game Tech, Data Engineering and MLOps teams to deploy data products at scale. A PhD or MSc and 5+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in Data Science, CS, Statistics, Physics, Math, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional data science experience with 3 data or ML products deployed.
• Proficiency in clustering, predictive modeling, RL, and Bayesian statistics.
• Hands-on software engineering, MLOps, and deploying ML models at scale.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python; familiarity with big data tech and cloud platforms.
• Gaming or digital entertainment experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end data science initiatives from problem framing to impact measurement.
• Build ML and RL solutions to improve engagement, retention, monetization, and operations.
• Lead modeling framework for complex systems with evaluation and monitoring.
• Partner with game teams to define success metrics and actionable decisions.
• Define engineering standards for model development, validation, and bias checks.
• Drive scalable experimentation with A/B and bandit testing and power analysis.
• Ensure dependable data foundations with Data Engineering and MLOps teams.
• Build internal data products like AB-test calculators and decision tools.
• Provide technical leadership via code reviews, mentoring, and coaching.
• Promote data-informed decision making across business units.
• Translate insights into recommendations for senior leadership.
