Job summary

Funding Circle is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to be the primary technical authority for Data Engineering and the Data Platform architecture. You will design innovative solutions on Snowflake and AWS and report to the VP of Data as part of the Data Leadership Team.

You own the Data Platform strategy and multi-phased roadmap to our Future State Data Platform, advising on migration across platforms. You will lead the architecture, design and development of scalable data warehouse, lakehouse,

Qualifications

10+ years in Data & Analytics, Staff/Principal level in Data Engineering/Architecture.
Hands-on cloud data platforms on Snowflake and AWS, with large migrations.
Experience designing data products across source, aggregate and consumer patterns.
Architect and scale cloud data platforms with Snowflake, Iceberg, Redshift and S3.
Develop robust data transformation pipelines with dbt and Airflow.
Automate infrastructure and deployment with Terraform and GitHub Actions.
Implement data governance, end-to-end lineage and data contracts.

Responsibilities

Own Data Platform strategy and multi-phased roadmap to Future State platform.
Lead architecture, design and development of cloud data warehouse, lakehouse, streaming and analytics.
Define ingestion, transformation and orchestration patterns and conventions.
Identify bottlenecks and tech debt across the data ecosystem.
Own Data as a Product Community of Practice and data product standards.
Champion data quality, observability and governance in production.
