Job summary

Lorien is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to shape an enterprise-wide data platform and integration strategy. You will lead data architecture, establish engineering standards, and steer large-scale transformation initiatives.

You will influence cloud modernization, data modelling, and platform delivery across complex systems, partnering with product, architecture, and engineering teams to deliver scalable data solutions and drive innovation at scale.

This is a senior technical leadership role with significant influence over data architecture, engineering standards, and large-scale transformation initiatives. Their central technology function is investing heavily in modernising infrastructure, cloud services, and data capabilities to enable better decision-making and digital experiences across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-scale data integration and data flow solutions across operational and analytics systems

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Significant experience in data engineering, integration, or platform design within complex environments
• Strong expertise across multiple technical disciplines (e.g. data, architecture, cloud, infrastructure, integration)
• Proven ability to lead technical design and delivery at enterprise scale
• Strong understanding of data modelling, system integration, and modern data architectures
• Experience working within Agile or product-led environments
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience mentoring or leading engineers and influencing technical direction
• Salary up to £85,000
• 33 days holiday plus bank holidays plus option to buy more
• Hybrid working model: Approximately one day a week in the office
