Job summary

Computer Network Defence Ltd (CND) is seeking an experienced Principal Consultant - Security Architect to design, develop and assure secure technology solutions across complex programmes. You will define target architectures, manage security risks, embed Secure by Design principles, and support accreditation throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Security Architect or lead security consultant.
• Strong knowledge of security architecture frameworks and best practices.
• Experience applying Secure by Design principles.
• Background in secure infrastructure, network, application, cloud, or data solution design.
• Knowledge of security governance, risk management, assurance, and accreditation.
• Understanding of cloud, digital transformation, and emerging technology security challenges.
• Experience within Defence, Government, CNI, or other regulated environments is desirable.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to identify risks and provide pragmatic security solutions.
• Experience with threat modelling, security reviews, and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead security architecture across complex technology programmes.
• Embed Secure by Design principles throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Assess existing solutions and define secure target-state architectures.
• Conduct security reviews, threat assessments, and risk analysis.
• Support the secure integration of infrastructure, applications, cloud, data, and emerging technologies.
• Produce security documentation, risk assessments, and assurance artefacts.
• Work with customers and assurance teams to support accreditation and compliance.
• Advise on security controls, governance, and risk mitigation.
• Facilitate technical workshops, design reviews, and stakeholder engagement.
• Promote security best practice and provide technical leadership.

Our client is seeking an experienced Principal Consultant - Security Architect to support the design, development, and assurance of secure technology solutions across a range of complex programmes. Working with technical, operational, business, and assurance stakeholders, you will define secure architectures, manage security risks, embed Secure by Design principles, and support accreditation and assurance activities throughout the solution lifecycle.

This role offers a blend of remote working, collaboration across customer locations, and regular travel to sites including Bristol, Andover, Corsham, and Bulford.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead security architecture across complex technology programmes
